Blouberg is a seaside suburb along the West Coast. The magnificent views, fantastic surf and awesome people to socialize with make Blouberg a big favourite with Cape Town locals and international visitors alike.

There's a lot to do when staying in Blouberg. Shopping malls, bars and restaurants are in abundance. If you're not keen on going out, hire a movie at your local video store and spend the evening lazing on the couch.

What sort of accommodation can I expect to find in Blouberg?

Blouberg has lots of large, spacious houses available for short-term holiday rental. These houses usually have space for braais and have swimming pools.

There's lots of accommodation available in high-rise apartment buildings in safe and secure complexes. When staying in an apartment you can often expect lovely views of the ocean, Robben Island and Table Mountain. Many complexes have communal pools, braai areas or gymnasiums available for guest use.

What's the near beach?

If you've come on holiday to experience, some beach side fun the Blouberg will be perfect! Most of our holiday accommodation offers views of the beach and sea, which is usually within walking distance.

Are there sharks at the beach?

There have been shark spottings at Blouberg beach however there has never been any recorded shark attacks.

Is there public transport? Will I need to hire a car?

Hiring a car is not a necessity at all! When you're on holiday in Blouberg, you'll have access to the Myciti bus service. They offer an on time bus service that covers the entire Blouberg / Table View area. You will also find a direct bus through to Cape Town with routes leading out to the Airport, the V & A Waterfront, Green Point, Sea Point, Camps Bay, Hout Bay, Century City, Atlantis and Melkbosstrand.

The best part is that this service is very affordable especially when you consider the ever-rising costs of petrol as well as the toll it takes on our environment.

Will I need to travel far for a good meal?

Not at all. Blouberg is packed with great restaurants, whether you're in the mood for Italian food, Thai cuisine, Chinese food, a nice spicy Indian curry or Sea food, which is the predominant option, you're in for a treat.

Our accommodation is often within walking distance from shopping centres or restaurants.

I've had a long trip, I need a drink. Where can I get one?

The beachfront is packed with bars and nightclubs. At night the area is alive with people of all ages enjoying life. A number of the bars have outdoor areas or overlook the sea. There's few ways better to enjoy a sunset than to do so with a cocktail overlooking the ocean.

What sort of weather will there be in Blouberg?

In summer,you can expect the weather to be warm and occasionally windy with temperatures reaching as high as 40°C. Winters are cold and wet but you won't see any snow. The weather can go as low as 5°C during the day.

How far is Blouberg from Cape Town CBD?

Blouberg is about 25 KM away from the CBD and it will take you about 30 minutes to drive there.

How far is Blouberg from the Airport?

Cape Town International airport is just over 30KM away from Blouberg. Depending on the route you take the trip can take anywhere between 30 and 45 minutes.

I want to explore the wine routes. How far will I have to drive?

The closest wine farm is Durbanville Hills Wine Estate, which is only 16 KM away from Blouberg. You can travel by car in less than 25 minutes.
